Block paving and brickweave driveways, resin bound surfaces, tarmac, porcelain and natural stone patios, fencing and full garden landscaping across Norwich and the Norfolk towns.
Where a photograph shows the base going in rather than the finished surface, that is deliberate. Norwich sits largely on boulder clay, which holds water, and a Norfolk winter lifts anything laid on a base that is too shallow. The sub-base is the part that decides how long a driveway lasts, and it is the part nobody sees once the job is finished.
More detail on each service: block paving driveways, resin bound driveways, tarmac driveways, patio installation, fencing and garden landscaping.

Grey sandstone patio with brick border
Grey sandstone flags laid to a dark block soldier course, with a planted bed running along the fence line.

Sandstone patio with soldier course border
Grey sandstone flags run through to a dark soldier course border, with the raised beds built in at the same time.

Brindle block paving driveway in herringbone
Brindle blocks in a 45-degree herringbone, which interlocks under vehicle weight far better than a stretcher bond does.

Block paving driveway with linear drainage
Linear channel drains going in with the sub-base, not after — retrofitting drainage to a finished driveway means lifting what you just laid.

Pressure washing a sandstone patio
Sandstone is porous, so a wash every couple of years keeps the algae off; the joints need re-sanding afterwards.

Cream sandstone patio around a mature tree
Cream sandstone with wet-cut joints, taken up to a mature tree that was kept and given a gravel surround at its base.

Cream sandstone patio along the house
A cream sandstone patio running the length of the house, edged with dark blocks where it meets the lawn.

Two-tone sandstone patio
Two tones of sandstone laid together, with the inspection covers recessed and infilled so they match the paving.

Block paving driveway mid-installation
Blocks stacked on site and the borders already laid — the herringbone field is cut in last, against a fixed edge.

Rolling a new asphalt driveway
Tarmac is rolled while still hot; once it cools the surface cannot be compacted properly, so timing decides the finish.

Resurfacing a large tarmac driveway
Several views of a large tarmac driveway resurface, with the new surface laid over the existing base.

Jointing a dark grey sandstone patio
Jointing compound brushed into the gaps and worked down; underfilled joints are where frost damage starts in a wet winter.

Breaking out an old concrete patio
The old slab and its base come out entirely — paving laid over failing concrete inherits every crack underneath it.

Brown sandstone patio and new lawn
Patio and turf laid together, with sleeper borders holding the levels; doing both at once avoids digging the same ground twice.

Brushing joints on yellow sandstone
Yellow sandstone with the joints being filled; the colour deepens considerably once the stone is sealed.

Light grey sandstone with dark joints
Dark jointing against light grey flags — a deliberate contrast that keeps the individual slab shapes visible.

Curved block paving driveway design
Grey and cream blocks sweeping through a curve, with the field cut to the line as it follows the radius.

Recessed manhole cover in sandstone
The cover is infilled with the same stone and aligned to the joint lines, so it reads as part of the paving.

Featheredge fencing on concrete posts
Concrete posts and gravel boards keep the timber clear of the ground, which is where featheredge panels usually rot first.

Closeboard fence along a lawn
Closeboard panels stepped to follow the ground level, with concrete gravel boards taking the contact with the soil.

Vertical board fence with concrete posts
Vertical board panels on concrete posts and gravel boards, which keeps the timber clear of the soil.

Stained fence panels on concrete posts
Fence panels freshly stained a deep brown, set between concrete posts on concrete gravel boards.

Sandstone paving with artificial grass panels
Two panels of artificial grass set flush into sandstone paving, in an enclosed courtyard bounded by brick walls and fencing.

Landscaped garden with pergola and paving
Buff sandstone paving, raised sleeper beds and a timber pergola frame, laid out as one garden scheme.

Compacting a new tarmac driveway
A pedestrian roller passing over fresh tarmac; the number of passes decides how the surface wears over the next ten years.

Stained decking above a paved area
Freshly stained decking set above a paved area, with low brick planters holding the change in level.

Block paving drive with darker border
Multi-blend blocks in herringbone against a darker border course, with a raised planted bed to one side.

Charcoal block paving out to the road
Dark charcoal blocks in herringbone with a contrasting border, running out to meet the road at the edge of the property.

Completed charcoal herringbone driveway
A finished drive with a double stretcher bond border; the twin course gives the herringbone field a firm edge to lock against.

Raised sandstone patio with brick step
A raised sandstone patio built on a brick retaining wall, with a brick step down into the garden.

Textured grey porcelain paving patio
Porcelain paving with a textured face for grip, and channel drainage taking water away from the French doors.

Red brick paving with curved border
Clay brick pavers in herringbone following a curved soldier course, cut to the line of the retaining wall.

Brick weave patio under construction
Brick weave going down with the border set first; the stacked pavers are laid dry and checked before jointing.
