Norwich and the Immediate Suburbs
Most of our work is within a short drive of the city. The housing here ranges from Victorian and Edwardian terraces with narrow front gardens, through 1930s semis, to modern estates, and each brings its own driveway questions. On a city terrace the constraint is usually whether there is enough depth for a car to stand clear of the pavement; on the outer estates it is usually drainage.
Mid-Norfolk and the Market Towns
Wymondham, Attleborough and Dereham sit on heavier ground than the city in places, and properties tend to have longer driveways and larger gardens. Both change the specification: a longer drive makes the per-square-metre cost matter more, and heavier ground usually means a deeper sub-base.

North Norfolk and the Coast
Coastal properties get salt-laden wind as well as rain, and that shortens the life of poorly finished edges on any surface. Edge restraint matters more here than anywhere else in the county. Many of these are second homes or holiday lets, where low maintenance is usually the priority.

Low-lying, with a high water table in places. Drainage design is not optional here, a driveway that cannot get rid of its water will fail regardless of what is on the surface.
